Camp - Lone Rock, Skull Valley Utah

Rocket Launching - Nov
18-19 2005

The Deacons Quorum did a winter camp at Lone Rock in Skull
Valley past Tooele, Grantsville exits on I-80 West of Salt Lake
City. It is quite a unique Rock Structure in the middle of a
valley. Unfortunately some wrong tent poles were brought, so
some had to sleep under the stars. OUCH! They said it
wasn't bad. They all had good sleeping bags. We sat around
the camp fire and played guitars and sang. The fingers were sort
of frozen, but it sounded fine. Kyler and I slept in the van.
Really Roughing it. Dinner was a mixture of all the stews/soups
that the boys brought all mixed together. It was quite tasty.
The troop had built some rockets to launch. It was a great place
to launch them since it was a hugh open area. I had to
leave before they actually started launching the rockets. They
said the big orange one launched especially well. The sun in the
morning took the edge off the cold and it was a fun camp.
