Jose & Jerome Diego - Owners of the home we stayed at were in Oahu on Sunday. They came and visited Monday morning. They are the nicest people!

This is really a slug type thing that looks like a brown leaf about 2 inches long

Todd & Melanie Chidester from Utah. Their sons Brandon & Howie here on the road home from Hana. We saw them all over the island.

Todd is a nurse practitioner. He was here for a conference. He was wearing a BYU shirt so I talked to him in Lahaina under the banyan tree.
We followed each other on part of the Road from Hana. We went to the Hana Branch
with them on Sunday.

We love those painted trees. As they peel they have different colors under the first layers.

Mel Enevold is the owner of the Milowai condo we stayed in earlier. We borrowed a cooler for Hana and we took this picture as we returned it.

Noni at the Four Seasons. No, we didn't stay there, but we "lounged" there for a while pretending we paid the $400/night!

Mike was from Oregon. 5 years ago he visited Maui and moved here knowing no one. He does pools. He took some pictures of his work for us...
yes he was wearing clothes!

This is one of his "No Budget" pools for a very well known artist's backyard. The owner was home so we couldn't come in, but he kindly took pics.

He was the nicest guy. He gave us all kinds of recommendations of where to eat and such.
|
|
|
|
What incredible work he does! We loved chatting with him. He was so friendly and was as nice as any guy we met on the trip!

|
He does an incredible matching of lava rock and creates pool projects as this one.
|

Wow! We only wish we had this kind of backyard. Mike wants to sell his home and buy a boat and do charters to Fiji (I think).

This is the hedge that got us to go up the road where we met Mike. Incredible purple flowers. Mike said they have evil thorns, though.

There were fires on Lanai (next Island over). We could see the smoke and the plane dropping fire retardant.
