Elder Spencer Davies - Letter Highlights

Dear Braedon & Family, and MOM most important! (Spencer's Dad's editorial input)

I got home from General Conference today (Oct 2nd 2005) I thought it was really good. Elder Yang went to school in China for a year before he came to the MTC. So he will always correct us.  Womehow I am getting the impression that we are going to get to Taiwan and not know a word they are saying when they open their mouths.

The Elders that were here 6 weeks before us are leaving soon to go to Taiwan, or other places that are Mandarin speaking. Tomorrow I need to teach half of the first lesson a twenty minute lesson so only about ten minutes of it. Which isn't such a big deal except that I need to teach it in Chinese. I only have a few sentences down for the first of three parts. I'm finding it si hard to really concentrate for very long but I know writing you guys helps a lot - because of the advice I got through a blessing that Maury (Flake, Noni's brother) gave me a while ago.

Dad, I did meet Elder Mo here at the MTC, and also Elder Fairbanks from Edmonton (Alberta, Canada) his girlfriend back home said that her Relief Society President or something is Jane Spencer and Jennifer Spencer taught Elder Mo the Temple Prep classes I believe (Jennifer is Greg's aunt, Jane is her daughter, Greg's first cousin. They live in Edmonton and asked me to tell Spencer to look up Elder Mo who is going to England, I believe, Mandarin speaking.)

October 8th 2005
Today is the day that I am going to teach the first discussion in Chinese, I still need to write half of it though I think I won't have had my letter off (mailed this letter?)

October 9th 2005
If I just got my lesson done. I did not give a good first discussion to the nice volunteer student that came to listen to us. We came to the door and I don't know how we got in the door, but we did. My companion just said some stuff and we just got in.

I just got back from "The Testaments" showing here. That is such a wonderful movie. Well, I'm going to bed, so I will write later. Oh yeah, I need a tape player... (We sent him one... it was harder to find than you would think!  They are 'old technology" now)

Oh yeah... My teacher Peng Laoshi is an actor in the new film called "60 days" or something about a guy in a car wreck that has to baptize his mom. (We have no idea either?)

Love Elder Spencer Davies
