Elder Spencer Davies - Letter Highlights |
||
| Dear Kelson & Family: (Spencer's Dad's
editorial input) This place is way crazy. I barely get time to brush my teeth. I am only allowed to pray in Chinese now. Yang Zhong lao (A Zhong lao that sleeps in my room, not my companion) (We think Zuong lao means companion) when frustrated with some of the Zhong lao men in the room is so good at using alliteration. Anyways, they have curtains on all of the showers except for one of them that has a curtain that is too small. The day is spent mostly sitting and studying all day long. I feel a bit behind in Chinese and feel all my time should be spent learning it. The tones are extremely difficult to pronounce easily. ... I would buy a Chinese hymnbook here except I have one at home. It is pocket sized small and green (wanted us to send it to him)...Seriously, though, all we do is eat and sit in class and sleep. Showering, praying, writing letters and writing in my journal. But that's why people get so fat so quickly here because of eating then sitting. So people get fat rather quickly. I like the feeling I get fasting. It is quite good. But I'm going to eat in a while. Kelson, I liked your letter, it's quite short. Thanks for your letter, Mom. So I went and ate a lot of food just now. Sundays are a lot slower for working and stuff. My companion is really ____? (nice?) to me. Seriously... Elder Spencer Davies |
