2005 Relief Society Contest Winners Choir

Noni's Page Noni's Pictures RS Choir Noni's Relatives

Officially, This was the event as posted on www.lds.org: "The Church Relief Society Music Festival will feature works from the annual Relief Society music submissions. Of the 11 pieces to be presented, some are new works of text and music, and other works are new musical arrangements for well-known texts. A choir of Relief Society members from throughout the Wasatch Front, conducted by Merrilee Webb and accompanied by Anne Puzey, will perform the music."

Noni has had the incredible experience of being in this choir with many other women who love to sing. The Highlight is being able to be led by Merrilee Webb.  She really has a gift that touches each member of the choir she directs.  Noni says that each practice is so inspiring. Apparently this choir is not the only group that has
"sung" Merrilee's praises.  Merrilee moved to Hawaii to teach at BYU Hawaii. I found this page that tells of students feelings about their experiences with Merrillee's choirs.

This years Relief Society Choir Concert was held on Friday October 28th 2005 at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Although we were not to record any part of this event while it was happening (as per copyright laws) I was able to get some pictures before and after (when Merilee said "the concert is officially over" I took some pictures). I also got some pictures of the reception after the recital in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building with some of the contest winning composers.  The following pictures will soon be labeled. For now I will just put them on as some of you have requested the pictures.
