Noni was born in Logan, Utah
where her mother Maylene Spencer was born and raised.
Her father Lowry Flake of Snowflake, Arizona was
attending Utah State University in Logan. The family
soon moved to Brigham City, Utah enroute to return to
her father's home town of Snowflake Arizona. This is
where Noni spent the majority of her childhood.
She attended school in Snowflake through High School
where she excelled in voice and violin and excelled in
academics. She took some classes at MPC College in
Snowflake before attending Ricks College on scholarship.
She was in the Orchestra there and was departmental
woman of the year in the College of Family Science,
which was her major course of study. She met her
future husband Greg Davies of Magrath, Alberta Canada
that first fall semester. She graduated from Ricks
College (now BYU-Idaho) with a two year degree and
transferred to BYU in Provo Utah. She attended school
there while Greg served a full time LDS mission in San
Diego, California from 1983-85.
Noni & Greg wrote each other while he was on his
mission, and were married shortly after he returned in
June of 1985. They moved to Magrath, Alberta
Canada for a year. Noni finished her degree at the
University of Lethbridge, in Alberta Canada. With those
final classes she received her degree in Family Science
from Brigham Young University. She worked for a
couple of months after she graduated while pregnant with
their first son Spencer who was born that next May in
1996.
After moving back to Rexburg, Idaho then on to Provo
Utah where Greg finished his degree in Finance from BYU,
they moved to Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Noni served as
Primary President and in the Stake Relief Society in the
Hamilton Stake. Braedon & Kyler were born while in
Canada. They returned to Utah in 1994 where their last
son, Kelson was born in West Jordan, Utah. Noni & Greg
have lived in Current Home since 1994 and have "put down
roots" there. Noni has served in Primary, Relief
Society and in music over the years. She is a
compassionate neighbor and friend to all. Noni currently
serves as the Ward Choir Director / Music Chairman.
She stays at home raising their five sons who keep them
both very busy. |
